L’arme de la victoire (1943) - The weapon of victory
US Government
A fairly simple popular pamphlet on American industrial power in the service of strengthening the air force.
The weapon of victory is obviously the flying fortress. In rather simplistic terms, it is described as flying higher than the fighters, faster than the fighters and with more powerful weapons than the fighters. The production facilities of the United States allow hundreds of these "Fortresses" to be produced each month. One factory alone - among many others - produces one bomber per hour, day and night. Eleven factories, assisted by thousands of subcontractors, produced in 1941 more than four thousand engines per month.
A very concise text with impressive photos on the production of the B-17 and B-24, as well as on the training of the crews.
