De l’Afrique, Mittelholzer rapportera de nombreux clichés dont des photographies, exclusives pour l’époque, des tribus du Kenya. C’est ce raid qu’il raconte dans RAST. L’aventurier volant est connu pour toujours parfaitement documenter ses péripéties et surtout réussir à leur donner une dimension commerciale. Non seulement Walter Mittelholzer sait s’adapter aux besoins de la presse, mais la chambre noire installée dans son avion lui permet même de réagir aux changements de luminosité et de ressortir les tirages flous.\u003cbr\u003eEn 1931, il est nommé directeur technique et instructeur en chef de la nouvelle compagnie helvétique : Swissair.
